I use LEIs primarily. I have foils but I use them for training. I prefer the feel of an LEI right now.

I will however say I back up Ted on a couple of issues.

1) The glide factor - I have seen guys on Blade 2's come down like feathers. Its scary to watch, they hardly seem to make a splash they come down so softly.

2) The wind range - I have played with the Psycho 12.5. Its a nice kite with an awesome range. I didn't like the fact that the wing tips kept folding in at times but thats a separate issue (and I'm not sure whether the guy had it set up correctly). The wind range on that baby, however is better than any kite I have seen. Scary stuff. You can feel the power just increase when you pull in the bar. Way more power than any other kite, and way more range.

BUT, I still prefer my LEI's. If I find a foil that works for me, maybe one day, but not right now.

I've not had a problem with folding tips on the 12.5 psycho since I brought the depower line knot down by 5cm and put the stability mod described on Flysurfer's web site - do you know if either had been done on the 12.5 you tried?

Well, with the continuing implosion of ram airs, their deteriorating market share, and the growing acceptance of their inferiority by the vast majority of riders, it is interesting to reflect on some of the ridiculous claims made by Ram Lovers in the past. Through our years of collective experience and with a greater understanding of aerodynamics, it is interesting to review some of the ridiculous claims made by ram lovers:

RAM AIR Pros (as stated by the U.S. Flysurfer importer):
- More efficient on snow
-- Bullshit proven: The vast majority of competition and free riders prefer inflatables on the snow.
- Huge wind range
-- Bullshit proven. If anything, ram airs have a narrower wind range.
- Better glide ability
-- Bullshit proven.
- Easier to relaunch on snow
-- Bullshit proven.

Ignore the lies. Ignore the ram propaganda. Overall, inflatables are vastly superior to rams.
