UDS + Globerider Kites = Ultimate Depower?

Postby Dax » Mon Dec 22, 2003 1:07 am

Anyone tried this? Not sure how well UDS will react on different brands of kites, but it seems that the Globerider and Takoon kites that are built for depower would do well with UDS.

Thoughts? :bye:

I think it could work.
Globerider is working on a new bar.....for some reason it takes them 2 years to come out with one, but they are working on it.
The 04 bar is a standard carbon bar.

But, yes, I think the USD would work on the GRK.
The range on the kites is huge, with the chicken loop plus the de-power strap, it's plenty, but go and try the USD and let us know.
Should work well in the waves.

I actually had the same idea a couple days ago. I've been using the 04 Lift +GK bar for the past week, and there a few things I don't quite like about the chicken loop/frontline adjustments and leash. The bar is fine - so retrofiting it with the UDS system could make it perfect. In terms of the kite though...I love it. :)

kivi - what sizes GK kite do you have? You've been flying them in Canada? Damn! Isn't that cold as hell right now?

I'm using a 12M GK Lift (orange/grey 8)). The river is almost frozen, so I've been test flying it in a frozen bay. Couple other guys have been out kite skiing already. It's going to be a fun winter. Actually, there are guys here who prefer riding winter over summer.

We're currently going through a heat wave...+1 degree celcius and raining. :P
