[quote="b2ride"]When you say "the tips don't stall" you mean don't let the tips flare?

Or don't oversheet the kite?

Same thing, flared tips will slow the kite down in flight which gives ya a feeling of more power but poor upwind. also makes it slow in the up turn. pretty typical of all 16m kites

yep had the chicken loop release a couple of times early on, caused by the leash wraping around the QR red plastic bit. i now keep an eye on it and push it down a couple of times a session.

I wish there was some way to illeviate that problem. My biggest fear is being out really powered up and crashing or hitting it the wrong way only to have a really powered up kite on my hands. I may have to do some retro fitting and change that up.

Anyone done this already?

18-12-8

It's simple...for (our) weight (190-ish)
18-12-8
Yeah I know its a big jump between the 18 and 12, but the 18 seems to depower PROPERLY until the 12 is needed. If there is a border-line call...the 12 is still fast enough to generate power thru the speed of kite.

Problem is the 16 doesn't jump as well as the 18. I'm also convinced I can generate as much power with the 16 as I can with the 18 because it's faster and therefore I can get more strokes through the power zone. Once it comes up to 18-20 I'm jumping better on the 16 no doubt. The 18's always feel like spaceships at the bar.

Make sense?
