Th 16 type 5 has alot of power. In lbs we have a guy that rides it up to about 23 or 24 knots then hes blown away. He weighs 245lbs so i think you guys are close. Not too sure about his low end but pretty sure 14knts or so.

Long lasting and good performing kite.

Hope that helps.

Aloha royce.

Have a Type 5 16 since last year september, i've used it for now not more than 4 times.

I weight 75 kgs and have a slingshot SX 141.

I wpould measure my level as intermediate+

used it in 13-15 knots and it was just the perfect wind range for me, good speed, good upwind performances.

I also used it higher winds, i think it was around 20 knots, a lot overpowered for me, and in that case forget about handling the power. It was really too much... (for me)

Otherwise it's a very good kite, good constrction and a few very handy features (roll-on valve + handles)

One bad thing, that i will change asap, the safety system.

The kite leash is attached on the bar by a velcro. I had a bad surprise one of the last times i kited with it. while relaesing the chicken loop, the velcro released itself even if i checked it very carefully before going on the water. Which meant fast running after the kite :( Hopefully still in one piece.

Hope it wil help :thumb:
