Spleene makes quite a secret of how it really works. They don´t do it themselves, but their supplier. From what i read in different articles your custom design/photo/... is printed on prepeg and the design is inside the laminate. Nothing can ever happen to the design, it won´t even bleach from the sun.

dont believe everything you read in company literature.
prepreg already has the epoxy on it, its put on the individual fibres before the cloth is woven. so any printing treatment would be on top of the epoxy layer on the cloth, so when you bag it and heat it it runs.
and even if you did manage to get it etched checmically into the carbon by some miracle of unknown science, where's the white coming from, unless they have also magic'ed up some white carbon fibre as well.
the very best they could do is print directly onto the surface of the finished board witrha huge bubble jet printer, which do exist and then glass over the top of it.
their is no other way, its either printed onto a finsihed board or its a layer of cloth-cotton that is then glassed over.

thanks every one for the input, keep it comeing. I have gotten some good leads. So far I like what I saw from underground. The picture of the FLX with a car wheel really caught my eye. Any other suggestions out there? I love the input and learning experience.

Steve, how about a 120x36.5 with a flat fast rocker offset by a fair amount of flex? I think at your weight you able to ride it in just about everthing providing you have a good high-apsect low wind kite. I can make a pretty strong one with a corecell core around 4.5 pounds including hardware.
The wood version I have been testing as a moderate-high wind board (exact same shape, similar flex) weighs 7.25 pounds with six fins, grab handle, pads and straps. I'm 185lbs: It can be a little small for me in the lulls but it should work great for you.
Sq, does your nomex board have any flex at all?
Trent
