If you check all the magazines around or websites you can see that all the kite designers are using software to design. Are they all using the same package or did they develope there own ?. I think it's all autocad based ?

I would like to have a copy  Just to play around with.

Maybe we can do a kind of competition, best design. And the winnar will get his own kite.

:bye:

Last I heard Naish was using some sail (or foil, can't recall) design software custom adapted for them.

North uses 3-D modeling/CAD software in standard form as used for any product design.

dwight i might have heard this wrong, but isnt the reason the rhino is called the rhino because that was the cad software the basic design work was done on.

ex-cad soft/hardware sales guy.

but first of all I would like to hear/see some details about kite designing - I mean how some aspects of kite construction influence the way it behave/perform - it could give a lot of info about the machine trough just looking at the picture or when it lays on the beach

anyone?

this is the software http://www.rhino3d.com but the kite was not named rhino because of it. That is a myth.

'myth' i like that, it sort of elevates it...

decent enough freeform nurbs modelling package though, with an excellent plan shape output capability.

Yeah, only problem is it needs 1.21 gigawatts to power the flux-capacitor needed to run it.
