Wasga will take several weeks to get above 40F. Down on Lake St.Clair we have been out for the past 2 weeks and water temp is about 50 F now. Kited 6 days in a row, most riders from Toronto - Barrie area come down for the weekends to ride at lake st.clairs shallow kitespots that warm up quickly till water starts to warm up there come Mid May. Mid May we are in shorties on St.Clair.
Check out the article on Lake St.Clair in the spring edition of Kiteboarder Mag
Kewsick should be warm enough to ride soon
To find out about the riding on st.clair check out our forum at

Keswick is still frozen, as is most of wasaga, it gets all the ice blown down from the rest of the bay, won't be long now though.

Wasaga is almost clear now!
You could easily ride right in front of our workshop (Allenwood Beach) if you don't mind dodging the odd ice flow.
One or two more days of off-shore winds will get rid of the last of the horrid stuff.
They're calling for +15 by Saturday!
Anyone is welcome to e-mail me for a wind/wave report.

Well a friend of mine rode yesterday and the wind was shit but its rideable just becareful of logs, branches and ice above and below the water surface. by this weekend I think all the shore ice should be gone but there will probably be ice blowing around somewhere in the bay depending on wind direction.
pray for wind

Whats the wind like in july up at either keswick or wasaga. I'll be back for a few weeks at that time so fingers crossed I'll get some wind.

just two things
1 you guys are hard core going out when it is so cold. I was just talking to my mom and she says there was knee deep snow everywhere a couple of weeks ago. I am glad i moved to Australia so the locations you are talking about aren't my local spots. Might be back in December for a snow kite however.
2 about time to change your character larpy. the i see you masterbating pope is a bit too off colour even for me.

You can easily make it a day trip to ride Lake St. Clair. It is about 3 hrs from toronto to Mitchell's Bay and Belle River & Cedar Beach aren't much further. Go to
http://www.surfculturecanada.ca or
http://www.learntokite.com for Lake St. Clair riding spots.
