It's $500-$1000 a night... not so easy to get to... you can get the same scenery in the Florida Keys without the 24hr flight time each way.

But the Maldives are truely beautiful...

Yes they did, at one stage over half the land mass was still under water, as the islands are extremely low lying... I would be very suprised if this place still looks like this, or even exists right now

it's the Maldives, one of many resorts.

Some are a bit destroyed at the moment due to the Tsunami.

Find some more here: http://www.kitebeaches.com

Wind is not that good, but if, it is very constant and an awesome place to ride.
Maldives are generally very cheap, but you can get good deals as well (1000 Euro for up to 2 weeks). But drinks are very expensive! Although it is based on dollars, which is good for the Euros.

Normally best winds are from Dec to April. before and after you have the rainy season. I went there as my first kite holiday (LTU Villa Sun Island) and got very lucky: 9,5 days out of 12 days I had wind. It was beautiful and I learned my first 360!

On "Kuredu" you will find a kite center.

Hello,

Maldives, yes.... Well I lived there for 10 years... Why did I move to Egypt???

The truth is that there is not much wind in the Maldives, I could only guarantee windy days if you were to come in December to Mid February...

Mmarch and November are normally windless. Totally calm and very frustrating.

However, if you hit the right time, the kiting is great. I was there for a short visit in Jan and had some fantastic days on a 10, super constant. There are no obstructions or anything around to create turbulence.

Kuredu Island is the best for Kiting, http://www.kuredu.com and http://www.h2o-world.net
