GK Sonic - struts?

Postby rene q » Sat Oct 08, 2005 4:39 pm

It seems like the GK Sonic on some pictures only have 5 struts and on some pics 7 struts (with the two outer struts pretty close to each other).
Has the design been changed on its way, is it due to 2 diff. sizes, or have I just not looked close enough at the pics?

7.

Only pics that are around atm are of the 11 which is certainly just 7. Although as you say the last 2 are very skinny and close together. Because of the bend of the kites tips you can't see the last strut on most photos.

There are some pics on the GK website showing early versions having only 5 struts.
The final version has 7.

I can pic up mine next week, yuhuuu ....

If you look close at the 5 strut (prototype) pictures, you can see a slight
billow in the canopy. Mat added the additional struts to eliminate this
problem and make the kite more responsive. Now they're rock solid.
