Real Life Jaws Attack

Postby Rockstar » Mon Jan 09, 2006 5:20 am

Sad news from Australia.

A young girl was attacked and killed by a shark(s) while swimming.

She yelled "SHARK" but her friends on the beach thought she was jokingat first.

Heres a freaky bit,the beach is called Amity Point.

In the Movie "Jaws" the attacks were on "Amity Island" !!!

I just read about this in the newspaper at lunchtime, it was gruesome!!!!
The sharks, they think there was 3 of them, actually pulled or chewed her arms off, as well as ripping her torso to bits, she died of massive blood loss and shock within 1 hr of the attack. Several people witnessed the attack, and a few went to help her in the water, even as they dragged her to shore one of the sharks followed in real close.

Imagine seeing this, and the injuries she received?
It would scar your mind for life, I feel for her and the brave people who went to her aid and then waited with her until she was airlifted to hospital.

That area is well know amongst locals as a shark hangout.

Could happen at any beach.

The next day,a 7 year old died after being stung by a jellyfish at a Northern Australian beach. I believe that the death rate from stings is much higher than the shark attack rate ?

Also dont forget ,bees kill far more people than sharks do !

That is horrible! What kind of sharks were they? What is the closest major city to that beach?

the most likely culprit is a bull shark, but could also be a tiger shark.

the closest city is brisbane, north stradbroke island and moreton island effectively block off ocean swell from reaching moreton bay. I have some friends that have been going over there in boats of late to kite, we had tentative plans to have a sesh on that side of the island when I was up there over christmas - glad I didnt now.

How can you rate an animals life as equal to a human life.

Dude... that's not what she's saying... it's both wrong... like rape versus murder... as in "both are horrible"... but it's as usual PETA way of picking a dumbass context to express it.

@edmis... don't be sorry, there's plenty of pets at the pound need rescuing... time to rescue them all
