Yea, get a golf bag. I've flown everywhere (all over US, Asia, Central / South America) and not one charge yet! They still might ask you "what's in the bag?". Whatever you do, don't say kiteboading or kitesurfing gear, else they'll slap with a $75 charge.

The last time I was asked, I just said, "it's a golf bag, but I threw a bunch a random junk in their because it's the biggest suit case I have". Also, make sure you keep the weight under 50 lbs. 3 kites, 1 board, 1 harness, helmet, etc could put you over 50 lbs, so check another bag with a kite or two to keep the weight down.

USE THE PORTER. Pay them 20-40 bucks and save yourself the 75$ charge plus you'll beat the line if there is one. You don't have to worry about the weight when you give it to them as long as its not extremely heavy.

Have fun bro
