I have been kiting for about 3yrs and ride 8, 12, 16m 05 Vegas. My girlfriend is learning when we go to Egypt in April. My problem is what to do for kit for the two of us to share. I'm around 90kgs, her about 55kgs. Should we:
1) Fill in the gaps with 10 and 14m 05 Vegas
2) Get a bow type kite (say 11m) for her to use most of the time
3) Get rid of the 05 Vegas and buy two bow type kite, say 14m and 9m for the two of us. I assume that if I use a 14 she can be on a 9. If I'm on a 9m it's too windy for her.
4)Sell, and purchase 2 bow type and 1 bigger C shape
Any other combinations you think would be suitable?

Do you really have such big gaps? Me and my girlfriend is about the same weight as you and yours. Together we have quiver of Venoms 8-13-19. The 13 is her light wind weapon and the 8 she uses probably 90% of the time.
Even though I would have liked the Venom 10-16 combination the 8-13-19 made more economical sense for the 2 of us. We both had to adjust a bit to the sizes, but I'm pretty sure you can do the same with your LEI's. We also have 3 board sizes between us, so if your kite isn't the idea size you can go one board size up or down, this way we are never in need to use the same size kite/board.

Carrying always 4 to 6 kites travelling was the reason why me and my girfriend switched to BOW (crossbow).
Now we travel with 12 and 9, maybe 7 if is an area of strong wind.
Work perfect...maybe for your weight should be 16,12,9

Before you buy any of the bow's, try the new Vegas 06. The range on this years kite is amazing. My wife (110lbs) and I (150lbs) ride the 9 meter in winds from 15kts to 30kts. The trim tips allow bow style depower without losing the feel and perfomance (high jumps) of a traditional C kite. For more info go to
