Trieste, Italy

Postby Si_Italy » Mon Jul 10, 2006 4:56 pm

Im off to work in Monfalcone, near Trieste in North East Italy at the end of August.
I was just wondering if anyone has information or contacts for that region. Going to have my car and most weekends free so keen to travel to some nice beaches.....

Cheers

Lago santa croce

I do not know about summer time but during spring, it is a great location.
The last week of June I was there and the termic wind was blowing almost every day from noon to 5-6 pm. Only one day there was no wind because it was covered and raining. I always used a 14m2 with the exception of two days which used a 10 or a 18.
The lake is close to Belluno, it is quite a trip from trieste...
If you are interested, just let me know and I will ask a local about the wind condition in August September.
ciao
Enrico

Sorry Dude, North Adriatic Sea sucks almost the whole year, during the summer it's almost a swamp.

I'm heading westward for next weekend, hopefully I got something on the Thyrrenian....

Hi,

you have some spots there, 1st is in Marina Julija/MFC, then Fossalon, Grado, Lignano, etc... Last two can be really crowded in summer time... If you want to cach thermal winds then go to Lake Garda or Lago Di Santa Croce, or maybe some smaller lakes there.

I'll be also there If we'll have some bora (NE) or SW winds...

Marina Julia is quite nice with Bora (NorthEast) Winds, the problem is that in august there is not very often this "bora"

Lignano is really crowded but there is the "Kite-Island" http://www.neka.it, which is a quite nice spot (if there is some wind)
