edit...switched back to looking for a 12m
for my 1st kite...
im 150lb 6ft...was told to get a 150 board...?
have been told to look for a Sonic, Turbo Diesel, Waroo, OR One....yea good choices?....any other models?

I believe no need for such long board with your weight- 135x40 to 140x38 should be also ok.

suggested by my instructor to go a little bigger
edit...in ref to kite size...from 10-12 to 13-16

Big boards are easier to get going and go upwind. Just don't go too big as it'll eventually restrict your progression and you'll need to buy smaller.
150 doesn't seem too bad to me, probably the biggest you'll want to go though.

it's actually board width that does matter more then length, because 1cm in width is ~3-4cm in length. Because 140x40 "allroound" board usually will have almost exact surface as longer board with narrower tips.
Also- how much do you weight? If more then 85, then 150 could really be reasonable.

I have a 12m slingshot TD with bar,lines, bag, pump. I only used this kite 4 times, its in great condition but it does have a small canopy repair from self launching. I'm asking $850
