Why so late after all the hype of the Boxer SW and T3?
Why is the Raven always, not only the last release, but much later?
I love my Ravens, but my 12 is almost done.... November?!?!
I can buy now 07 SW, Boxer or Torch, why do we always wait for the Raven?

those who wait for something good...actually that was one of the reasons for getting the torch. It's a seriously nice ite...

The last kites (before this june) I bought have been high aspect kites, which I like a lot. However I could buy a kite now, and I chose the torch because of the 05 and 06 that I tested, and because of what people have been saying about it. If, after demoing the raven, I want that kite more, then I can still sell the torch and not loose too much money, since it will still be a new model. Its a win win. You get to test a new kite for 2-3 months, and then you can decide when the raven is on the market.. :-)

I would love to have them sooner. Last year they were available around the end of september so it can be done. I think they have a phased launch strategy at Naish and if so it really pisses me off. Different kite have different riders and frankly I don't care about Boxer SLE, Shockwave 2007 (our waves are no that great) and a little bit less Torch 2007. I want the new Raven 2007 nothing more, nothing less.

Seems to be more of a high aspect ratio kite to me...and that sounds good for major hangtime, especially together with the new profile!

wonder how raven compares to shockwave in the small sizes , for big air?
on the shockwave pdf they rated it Max for jump height(huge sheeting range can't hurt).

I'm thinking that larger ravens will obviously be the choice over larger shockwaves for height+hangtime, otherwise why bother with a raven at all...

While C Shaped kites have more and better feel to them than any bow or SLE...

well, yes, but if c kite feel over sle feel etc. is really your top priority then get a torch, cause mid aspect C is as good as it gets for direct fast powered turning.

High aspect C seem to be a bit slower in response than an equivalent mid aspect C so their "feel" advantage over an SLE is less. i imagine also, looking at the shockwave 07, that it has quite a good feel on 1:1 as it isn't very bow looking, has a consistent but moderate arc(not too flat) and has pretty high aspect ratio with squarer tips than most other SLEs. in other words: it is one of the most "C"-like SLEs i have seen.

my question is really on airborne performance(height and hang) as feel can be adjusted for with time.

....but they already rate their shockwave so well in this regard and pitch it on it's jumping to a large extent, it does beg the question, in the high winds, which is going to be the better kite in this regard?
