It's way easier to put on than the stock Dakine setup.

Dakine clips and hook ain't no good. The hook sticks
out too much and creates a lot of moment on the bar
which bends the clip when the kite is over head. Replacing
parts is great but not the answer - this has been a problem
for a long time. When you gonna fix it? Dakine.

Make it easy and just oem the spreader bar from ProLimit.
It works great!

Good Call Hein, I am going to order the pro-limit spreader bar.

You are right, the DaKine clips have been the same for a LONG time and should be fixed for good!

On my Dakine, you can remove one or both clips and strap directly to the bar, like that suggested replacement appears to do. And if you have Dakine pivot bar, there is no overhead torque issue.

There is an easy mod to fix this problem, search the forum for photos.

Basically, you take a short bungee and thread it through the clip loop. It prevents the hook from wiggling around.

When seated firmly, the hook won't bend out of shape any more.

Bent metal

I had the same problem!! untill I started to use the speader bar pad. The bar can ride up without the pad and stresses the metal. With the pad a nice snug fit and problemo solved!!

Rather than sell the pad as an optional extra include them with the harness and I think you'll find the problem would be resolved.
