YES! One-Kite-Quiver!! Windwing Rampage II

Postby Xtream » Mon Jan 15, 2007 4:09 pm

This new Rampage II 9.5 meter kite performs so different than any other previous Windwing Kites.
I have no idea what Windwing has done to make such an improvement in these kites, maybe they will comment. But it’s a massive difference and this kite handles unbelievable. It fly's in almost no wind.. Its stays in the air in 6mph? That's crazy!!!

After 5 sessions on this kite I'm convinced that this is the only kite I need.

I actually had fun on a day that I normally would have not been able to kite the wind was too low, but with the combination of this Rampage II 9.5 and the new light wind board I could ride back & fourth small pops and keep my ground, I'm talking about conditions with gusts of 11MPH and lulls of 6mph! And No walking back upwind. I had to come home and weigh myself I couldn't believe I was planning never mind holding ground.

I have used this kite from 7mph to 35 mph and for me at 180 lbs the sweet spot range is 12-30mph.
Very Very Impressive... Fantastic improvement. Major difference from all previous WW kites! ...What a kite. :thumb:

It doesn't matter how much you tweak the hype
but when new kites are out all the claims are similar like:
"Type 8 Incoming! Gonna rock yo world" thread
or "Project Thunderer - Sneak peek!"
Get real! Nobody is going to believe you're having fun and holding ground
on a 9.5m size with your weight!
Any efficient Bow or Flat will fly in that 12-30mph range,
so there is no breakthrough here.
Sorry, if it is so maybe you should post some video IMO.

How is the turning speed compared to the Rap 2? Rap2 was nearly my worst buy that I had with kites ...

The kite is nothing like the Rap2, its turns much faster like a C kite its very nimble and stable. I took Windwing up on the trade in for the Rap2 and was planning on returning it. I was looking for a reason not to like this kite. This was my last chance with Windwing Kites. Its really a different kite from any earlier ww kite. Like I said I was looking for an excuse to return the kite I tried everything to get the kite to hindenburgh or deform or act badly in the light winds and in 30mph and was not able to make it look bad.

In defense of Wind-X in the Project Thunderer thread, there really isnt any hyping of the kite. And most of the hype done about that new design of kite in other threads is done by Bruno himself.
