The Rebel wants to fall out of the sky and can give you some trouble to relaunch. But the sonic is very stable in the air and easy to relaunch.

never heard someone say anything negative about there 07 sonics. i hav the 06 sonic and love it. super stable and easy to relaunch and the lowend is amazing compared ot to other bow kites. the 07 sonics bar is alot nicer then the 06 bar.

I really love my Rebel 14 for its silk smooth performance and agility, which makes it a great allrounder whereever I use it around the world´s lovely spots.

Rebel's dont want to fall out of the sky, you must have a setup issue.

Aloha

Can you write something more on the subject Rebela ?
Had you problems with relaunch ?

Paulie write what you mean writing for a "setup issue".

Great Thanks

I greet

Bart

Bart: Be careful about what you read here. If one person with very few posts (mostly favorable about one kite..) says something totally bad about the other - throw out the comment. Discard the fear it generates. That's evil.

I understand the hesitation - with no dealers to help you. I do not own either kite, but respect both the designers and manufacturers. I think you could get stinking drunk and not make a bad choice.

Hi Bart,

The rebel can be a little tricky to relaunch from the on it's back position but all you have to do is pull on one of the rear lines and it will sort itself out.

As far is the setup issue goes, Rebel's are a very stable kite and dont "just fall out of the sky" the kite is most likely just setup wrong on the bar. North's bar allow's you to make many changes as it's the only bar that they use for all models. I've flown 14, 12 and 9m Rebels and none have shown any signs of dropping out of the sky. Even after messing up a trick and overflying the kite will tend to just back up in the window and sit there awaiting input. This makes it a very good choice for begginers and intermediates alike.

I cant comment on the 14m Sonic as I never flown one, but as was previously stated I dont think you will go far wrong with either kite..

Good luck in your choice dude.... :thumb:

go for the Sonic. I never tried a Rebel 14m but heard it was not a good size for the Rebel.

The 14m Sonic is also not the best size when compared to the 11 or 8m. But it is a good kite. What I did to get the best out of the 14m was using 28m lines (21m + 7m extensions). It really changes the kite with more low end, better upwind,...

ps: I am not biased as I just sold all my Sonics

Yup, go for 12m Rebel over the 14m. It has very simlar low end, plus faster turning and loads more pop.... Rebel's sweet sizes are 12 9 and 7...

Hi Paulie
Just I reflect after Your answer over the buying Rebel 12. My balance {weight} is 85 kgs, I want to buy the board Nobile 555 135/40
In Poland I will swim most often. Winds are here most often within 3 -4 BF, at times more. Rebel 12 will not be too little ?

Why Rebel 14 this can be the wrong choice ?

Great thanks

I greet

Bart
