Hi Oliver!
Its Raul from the old, old days! waz happening?
Toby, Viginia key is banned for kiting but not windsurfing, not sure if we can get it back.....it is nice my favorite spot in FL.......
http://www.fksa.org/showthread.php?t=3999
Crandon is also now closed for kiting this summer until after labor day in september
That leaves only Matheson for a dedicated kitelaunch or miami beach if you can get past the crowds and lifeguards
pretty soon you're gonna need a boat around here to get to your spot

its open for windsurfing, which beats me, since only a few people windsurf there, and a lotttt more kiteboard there, never mind i used to be a windsurfer and i understand them but thats kind of messed up let them ride and us not, by the way there where two windsurfers launcheing and riding in the swimmers area in crandon yesterday, so i guess they should be banned there too..........if you really think about it, its scary a city big like miami and only one place to launch right now, never mind we have some ways of getting in the water which i wont tell online but its really sad.........

Hi Danny, Friday ("yesterday" in your question) was the last day to kite at Crandon. They (Crandon Park) have closed the beach to kiteboarding while they re-organize how it will be administrated.
We definitely need to stay vigilant, that's for sure!
Hopefully it will only be closed for a few weeks, and not until Labor Day!
We'll make sure that Kiteforum.com has the latest - so stay tuned!
Thanks!!
Karen

Hey Doc. Aren't you the one who caught shit about riding in the pond at Matheson with rocks, trees and cars just downwind? Now who's calling the kettle black?
