Postby thomahop » Wed Jun 20, 2007 6:01 pm

Anybody know if this kite is good? I am an experienced kiter, my main focus on a bow kite is low bar pressure and hangtime.

I can get a new one really really cheap, thats why Im asking..

Thanks alot

......I got a 10M about a week ago - and naturally - we have had no wind since. ..not even enough to keep a Contra 14 Bow at zenith..

The build looks fine. I personally like the fact there is NO one-pump. Mine does not have a pump leash, but I just put one foot in the kite like the old days. I'll post when I can fly it ...but it still looks like another 3-5 flat days. I'm 90kg, so I'll need some air to fill it.

Since you are inexpirenced, I'd suggest you be interested in how it depowers and how well it is going to help you get upwind. I can understand a frenchie not wanting bar pressure but most Norsemen I know do not shy from work? Bar pressure is good for you. It makes you strong and you know where the kite is without looking for it.

thomahop-
i got to fly the kite a few times last year - and its GR-8!
the bar pressure is really LOW (like butter in your hands)
but you still get a good feel for where the kite is in the window :thumb:
cant say much about the jumpin aspect as the wijnd was to low 4 me thouse days - but from what i see around (and above me) the guys flying them go pretty high .- and then some .
havent met anybody that wasnt happy with his blade...

as for you bagels - VERY good wind in the north , especially on the sea of galeli all summer long .
but the spot isn't for beginners .
check out the local kitesite before u hit the beach ....
hope i could help

thanks a lot osodow and Wetstuff!

the low bar pressure sounds good, Im not lazy, but with a bar pressure like the first crossbows, I could only be on the water for 10 minutes.. so Im just weak I guess 8)

did you manage to try it out, Wetstuff?

I would like to buy this kite, but since I've never even seen a blade kite, Im a bit sceptical :)

The 2007 kites are great !
The Vertigo has less bar pressure and more hangtime ( i love this kite... i would say it is more a freestile kite ) and the Beast is a faster flying kite more dedicated to wave ridding.
I have both and just love them.
You should try one if you can :thumb:
take care
