BRAZIL in JULY

Postby Paco » Fri Jun 22, 2007 9:52 pm

Hey guys,
I will be in BRAZIL in JULY (all of July) will anybody else be there?

Our idea is to Paraglide in and around Rio and then head up to the northeast for at least 15 to 20 days to kite!!!!!

DO you recomend us to go straight to Jericoaroa or move around????

...should we take paragliding equipment up there???

Toby,
I was thinking 16 & 12!
Should I better take 12 & 9 ????
I weight 100 kg (250 pounds) and have a VEGAS quiver!

Gardini,
I was in Peru last month (April) in Lima, Cuzco and Machu Pichu there wasn't that much wind in Lima to Paraglide and the water seemed a little cold. I did see a lot of surfers out there! I also so a couple of guys paragliding off Miraflores! They were ridge soaring all along the coast! Cliff launch AWESOME!!!!!

Cumbuco,
THanks for the link I will study it today as I really have to organize my life there soon!

Should I fly to Fortaleza or Natan?
Do you think I should get a 4X4 and move along the coast or simply station myself somewhere! Jeri????

THANK YOU ALL!!!!

I'm about 95 kg.
I also use 2006 Vegas 12+16!

But how high can you fly them? If you are going for old school big air, you could be fine. If unhooked style, you should bring a 9.
To be on the safe side, bring 9-12-16 if you can, than it is no problem.

Fortaleza is close to Cumbuco, and from here you travel up the coast to Jeri.
Natal has also nice beaches and lagoons, very few kiters! If you go just here, bring 12+16, it has less wind.

normally the schools look for help from instructors.

Contact the schools. And contact Mario from above.

You can also add a topic on this forum asking for it...that should work too!

Hi there

i can not recommend to work without having the correct documents.
Last year it still was possible but local authorities are aware of illegal
workers e.g kiteinstructors and did already checks and will do checks in the future !

I am not aware about the fine ... could be a warning, money fine or leaving the country within 48 hours.

Cheers Mario
