Tacking with the board...
http://southseas.nla.gov.au/refs/falc/1329.html

Basically meaning to manoeuvre the board and navigate a course upwind or downwind in a zigzag direction without stopping and having to water start.

I learned to backroll & jump befor i learned to go upwind, so there is no compulsory rules. Spend your time on the water lerning watever you enjoy (jumps, backrolls, toeside, frontrolls etc...) and the riding up wind will come in the mean time.

just make sure you are safe.

When you're underpowered on your biggest kite and you really do know how to ride upwind, but it's just not possible, do you have to call it the walk-of-shame?

Couldn't we call it... undrifting?
