I think I have a leak in my main strut, also need to put some teflon tape on the male/female connection as it is deflating once I deflate LE. I have been using the Octopus system for a good number of years and until now never had to work on one. I do as per instructions open up zip on strut turn and pull, for the life of me cannot disconnect it, it seem s jammed. Anyone had same problem , anyone got a solution .
Thanks,
Brett

I also found it hard to disconnect the valves at first, but after some training it´s quite easy. You can´t turn the valve when it´s totally inserted, as there are two plastic pieces on the LE connection that keeps the strut valve from rotating. First grab the valve togheter with the thicker base part of the bladder and pull straight out. When the valve releases a couple of mm (as the plastic flexes) its possbile to slightly rotate it. You have to be a bit more brutal with the bladder than you first wish to be here. Rotate some forward and back, and move the whole thing from side to side as you pull out with a considerable amount of force. Then it will release.

I repaired an octopus system for the first time this weekend. Each strut valve that connects it to the leading edge is help in place by a plastic circlip (plastic washer). That needs to be removed first.
Not sure if these clips are common to all octo systems but this one had them.

Hey Thanks Guys,
It does suck and am getting pissed off. Tried pulling pretty hard and twisting but does not want to budge. Really worried about damaging bladder. Worst thing I livein Tanzania , no kite shops so when you damage something you are in shit

The plastic c clip washer actually holds the leading edge valves in , you dont have to remove them to take the bladders off.The bladders come off first then the c clip washers , but you only take those off if you want to remove the leading edge.
Just get two fingers underneath the bladder and pull hard.
Good luck as it is a pain in the ass to repair.
Done it once and never want to do it again.

Hi,
Yes as mentioned above put you forefinger and the middle one undernath and push the valve with the thumb.
Recently, I had to repair the main bladder -found 11 tiny holes after I parked my Torch on some prickles and I had to remove and then to assemble 3 times the main bladder until I found all of them..
Regards,
L.

Even on 2017 naish used these as all you naish enthusiasts know.
Put a new bladder in my pivot and lost the c clip for the centre strut. Tested it today and there was a slow leak. I know it may be the strut connection points more likely - but is the missing c clip almost for sure my issue? Going to order one but also want to focus on other connection points if a c clip won’t solve my problem.

Obviously best done with fingers if possible but I have heard hose removal pliers recommended but no actual experience.
Anybody know if a soak in snoop, dishwash/water, would help?
