Tropical Storm Gabrielle

Postby ethanknight » Sun Sep 09, 2007 5:32 pm

I was just watching CNN talk about the storm when they had a live shot of Outer Banks. They had some kiteboarders riding in the background and they where talking about them. They even zoom up on one for a little bit showing him riding. I just thought it was cool to see the sport get some national coverage on on a major news station like that.

Yes. I took that Sunday morning.

Just came across this video as well. I think it is a little later in the day after the clouds rolled in....

Where were the Weather Channel storm chasers when this was going on? Way more interesting than fliming a wave hitting a pier!

Ha, glad someone saw that ! The wind shifted straight onshore just as we headed out which made things pretty tough.

Yeah Ty goes HUGE esp. when its cranking out.

no way in hell a weather van could have gotten to the cove haha. be fun to watch them try. Dave made front page of our local paper up here with a picture of him on the southside. which was pretty cool.

3 days before the storm hit the Frisco offshore bouy forecast was for 30ft. seas. which is about double overhead+ surf. haha u can tell it didnt even get close. What a dud.
