I'm heading down to Costa Rica for a family vacation in December - Dominical area. I'm just wondering if it's worth bringing kites or not. Has anyone ridden there?
Thanks

Costa rica has wind in the Northwest at that time of year. you'll be a good 6-8 hrs from wind....
Bahia Salinas, near the Nicaraguan border has wind, Nov- through March.

Hi Elvis:
To forecast Bahia Salinas you have to check: 1) Windguru , but consider that if its blowing from NE the actual wind will be 80% more of what it shows.
2) Windfinder: go to forecasts, select the map for Costa Rica, when a green bubble appears SW of lake Nicaragua, it will blow
3)Buoyweather: select the closest point in the pacific
4)Finaly you can check the local weather forecast at
http://www.imn.ac.cr (in spanish)
This method is working to find the good days in the rain season.
