Slingshot REV 13

Postby KSP » Tue Nov 06, 2007 10:48 am

Any reviews about the wind range of this size? What about REV 13 versus REV 11? For someone with 87kg, and riding on waves with surfboard!
Wanted to start at 11-12 knots.
Thanks

Hi, I don't own the REVs yet, but am considering them so have read quite a bit of reviews. From what I have read it seems at your weight you would need at least a 13m or more probably a 15m to get out in that wind...maybe the 13 would work ok with the surfboard. I think 11m would be too small unless you just want to do a downwinder in the waves in light wind and typically ride in stronger wind...

Anyone else have advice?

JimmyC that REv demo you had looked butt compared to some of the other colors out there. You're a C-kite guy anyways.

I just got the 13m today and will get a chance tomorrow to use it so will post a review.
I used the 11m with a surfboard in 13-15knots and it was fine.
I weigh 80KG
Also used the 9m with the 6'2 in 17-18 knots and had loads of fun in the surf.
I think the 13m will be perfect for what your looking for.

Youll need the 13m. I'm 193lbs and would need the 13m or even possibly the 15m but probably not, you can run the 13m pretty hard to get apparent wind.

Well, you know, it just depends what pops out of the SSRKCCG* on any given day. I mean, if you don't like pink, green and yellow...try another one. Thank you. Come again. :bye:

I tested the top end of the 13 yesterday. 133 twin
It was blowing around 22knots, I was definitely on the edge of being overpowered but the jumps were huge!
The wind picked up even further so I came in and got the nine out and had a fun time on that.
It's supposed to be 14knots later today and I will test the 13 in this and report.
The 13 seems to turn faster than other 12-14's I have tried.

I have now tested the low end of the kite in 12-15 knots.
I was riding a 133 twin and had a really fun session and did not really have to work the kite too much.
On a surf board I don't think you would have much problem over 10 knots.
