you would handle it great
I think it makes sense what he saying. I think there are other variables playing in, but for sure these are factors. That it is a delicate balance is for sure...

Both the materials and adhesives for bladderless kites are already available and used extensively in sail making. I doubt the costs would make it economical for manufacturers to make kites this way but it could easily be done.

So what will best be doing now that North's have bought cuben fiber corp?
http://www.cubenfiber.com/
Will you buy fabric from cubic tech, buy cloth from a competitor or will there be a "design breakthrough" which supplants cuben just in time?

North Sails and North Kites are two different companies. North Sails bought Cuben Fiber. Cuben was originally developed for high performance sails.

Since I asked the original question... I read this link from from gonewiththewind:
http://www.kiteboard.com/main.cfm?p=110 ... e=Nouvelle
I have to be honest that when I read it I remembered back to all of the wild claims that they had made. It really was just a total load of horseshit from Best. The sad thing about this is that this forum should be productive, honest descussion between people who share a common interest. Not a place for deception or schemes. It is kind of against the whole spirit of the community here. It is no wonder that anytime Best enters the forum they are always trounced upon by bashers. They actually kind of deserve it.
It was appropriate to refund everybody, but when the Hellfish was exposed to be a mess, a simple mia culpa would have ended it all instead of piling on another load of bluster and bull.

Gotta agree there, the reason why many bashed Best was at the time the forum was like a propaganda site for them, with so many wild claims and anti every other brand stuff. The fact that they were cheaper or were new in the game wasn't a problem for the consumer just their competition, online backlash came from consumers who just wanted stuff to be straight up. Anyway times move on and they don't do all that anymore..... their a mature brand these days.....

north sails, the sailing company, have purchased the boat sail part of Cuben corp.
Cuben Tech still provide cuben fabrics for other 'none boat' uses, nothing has changed.
We'll continue to use Cuben until we find something that is better.
