Hypothermia and Wetsuits?

Postby Clew In » Tue Dec 04, 2007 4:16 am

Hey,

Are there any rules of thumb to follow about Hypothermia and wetsuits. I was curious about the Illinois death and one guy was saying he died from hypothermia.

For example: How long could you last?
3-2 wetsuit in 60(50,40) degree water?
4-3 wetsuit in 50(40 30) degree water?

Here's a thread on that:

The rider was unfortunately in 40 degree air temp, 40 degree water, and no hood, gloves or booties. It is a shame and I still can't believe what happened.
