Need help from TK Furia riders…

Postby Ulah » Mon Jan 14, 2008 10:42 am

Hi,

I own a brand new tk Furia kite. On my first session had some troubles and cut both “V” (front lines) lines :( .

I need to order new lines .I measured them: 12,60m, but need to know if this is the precise length . Another thing, has both front lines (black and red tip) lengh??

Thanks!!!

:bye:

Ouch. How did you manage to do that?

Length of the lines is a tough one, because it depends on a number of things including line stretch. All for lines should be the same length when you have the bar setup to max power and the depower rope max powered. I.e with the bar pulled all the way in. I'd measure the difference between front and rear and that gives you the length of your front lines at the top of the V. You can do some additional adjustment using the knots under the bar floats so it does allow for a little leeway.

Can't you just order the correct lines directly from Takoon?

Ohhh… I was riding near the beach and a beginner kiter (maybe second or third session) dive his kite into my lines…. As a result both “V” lines cut.

I think Tk hasn’t yet line packs for furia. So I need to order from a guy who prepares lines…

I’ll wait for your reply!

Very appreciated for your help… THANKS!

the simpler way to recover the line leinght is to compare the center line on the back lines

put the depower and trim of the bar on maximun power,
starting to the bar, the backlines starts from the bar with a 3 konts trim, put it on the center knont,
then lock the end of backlines on a nail or any similar stable point.

with the help of a friend who takes the bar pulled take the measure from the ending of the centerline until the nail where the backlines are connected.. i think then you have a +-1cm accuracy leinght of the v lines.. !

after replacing of the v lines put all 4 lines of the bar again on a nail. and then trim it again with all 4 lines at the same leingth when the bar is on maximun power,

using the knots on the backline start of the bar you can tune again the bar..

i hope i was helpful! :thumb:
sorry my bad baaaad english!

Hi,

Yesterday I tried to measure my "V" cuted lines.... It seems that the black one ( the one it's connected to the elastic part) it's about 10cm longer than the red one. :o

Could anyone confirm that??

Thanks,

yes i confirm that! the black is longer that the red.. bat finaly the V have the same leinght! so order a +-10 cm lines then move on the red knot at the begining of the V to perfectly tune the lines at the same leingt :thumb:
question... how long is the black line???

p.s on the pic u look i removed the safety line that's why looks a little different of your bar.. but the V setup is the same

NO WIND... NO FUN! :cool2:

Have you solved your problem regarding line lengths ?

Otherwise I will measure mine - as I am going to check my lines for "damage" anyway - as I had them stuck around something hard on the beach, and the sun was down, so a bit dark ...

Have been out a while just after that, but am still going to check my lines visually inch by inch all the way when it is daylight again 8)
You HAVE to be able to trust your lines :thumb:

So I can measure the length of all line parts if you still need to know !

Kindly, Peter Frank

Hi!
I can't login with Ulah user so I ask a friend to reply under his log in.
Now I'm sure that both lines are different... +- 10cm. I will order one line with 12,60m (red) and another with 12,69m (black). Hope this works!

Thanks for all your replies...

Regards, Ulah :D
