a wind tunnell. Its pretty much transition time, but i would suggest something in the caribbean. I did northwest PR in early January, and it blew my mind with waves/wind. Donno about early march though. I wouldn't suggest san juan though if you dont like the city. I have family that lives there and it might look pretty on the outside, but if you really look around san juan its a mess. So staying in isabella is always good.

Maybe venezuala?

good luck

North-East Brasil is beginning to ramp up by June. I would say Jeri is as good a bet as anywhere:

Kitesurf on Prea Beach Jan Fev Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec
Percentage of windy days per month (over 4 bft - 12 knots) 85 71 55 56 55 70 88 100 100 100 98 97
Air temperature Celcius 29 29 30 30 30 29 30 30 30 30 30 30
Farenheit 84 84 86 86 86 84 86 86 86 86 86 86
Water temperature Celcius 28 27 27 27 27 27 28 28 28 28 28 28
Farenheit 82 80 80 80 80 80 82 82 82 82 82 82

(Apologies, table lost its formatting) - 70% Bft. 4+ in June

Good question but tricksy one. You can have a look at several articles in http://www.iksurfmag.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (or other online mags) that they have done about travelling & kite surfing on different back issues. They do not go too much in detail but you can get the general idea of a spot. Or you can check the past wind records in previous years of different spots in websites like http://www.windguru.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Then consult with a travel agent or even look online because some (but not many) resorts are not open all year round.

And after you have done all that as an extra precaution you could just book last minute so that you can check the forecast for the week that you will be goind. (It would be really bad luck to go to some nice and warm tropical place and then it's windy but raining 4 out of 7 days)

In any case, have fun and let us know how it was when you come back!!!

If you want a really nice hotel with pretty reliable wind, I can recommend Cap Est Lagoon Resort in Martinique...hotels don't come much nicer and in April winds over 4 bft are 73% (see Windfinder for Caravelle). Kite launch is about 10 metres from where you eat breakfast, large sailing area with super flat water. But hey....theres no guarantee.

Aruba or Bonaire,

Not only does it blow every day, it blows all day and all night every day during the windy season. March is in the windy season.
