Yo! Hat Bro! A bit paradoxical to look for new moves, but restrict the turf of newness.... if you truly want new moves, get out of the box.

Do the skateboarders have anything with potential?

I'd have to say that the Hat is too far beyond the limits of hooked in riding to find anything interesting in the hooked in realm. We all make our own rules for this game but I think there is some truth in saying that you will never get outside the box unless you unhook. Maybe riding hooked in is the box. Free your bar and your ass will follow. It's not so much a revolution as a revelation.

Don't get me wrong, I think hooked in strapped riding has its place in giant bumpy surf where it is just about survival and going straight down the line but that isn't "new or progressive moves". It's just hanging on like a squirrel holding a branch in a hurricane.

A real man stuffs it in the box daily.

Strapless is cool and so on.., but not my style.
So , I can not say who is in the top 10 or what ever.
I think we can not say who is better or not, all depends on location, waves, wind direction etc.
All I know is , I suck on the north shore but imo can really ride well on the S shore...I am goofy footed.
Seen plenty N shore dudes down here and they sucked.
So the question is , who is all around the best(ish)

Videos and new moves?
None I could find.

Also, who can ride with a Top Hat in 20ft N shore waves without loosing it? ONLY ONE !

Hat,
Don't tell me your having trouble using your imagination. Your problem is not coming up with new moves it's hitting the road and riding some new waves. Pack a suitcase with your special munchies and come with me to Peru in June. I know you'll find plenty of inspiration to continue your personal exploration of unhooked, strapless riding. Hell your already one the best in the world from what I've seen of you video clips. If you need more inspiration check out this clip of 8x champ KS on a fish. http://www.surfline.com/video/video_pla ... m?id=14848" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

PS have you pulled of the full roundhouse cutback upwind to off da lip combo.

Here's another one I can only do accaisonally hooked and strapped. It's called the Screw U. Toe edge going out hit the lip, carve upwind off the white water then reenter going down wind and down the line riding the wave. You can do it heel edge too but not as stylee. Good luck with that one.

Aloha from Maui, KC

Mahalo for your responses.
I do not mean to start some pissing match.
Just finished a couple of beverages and the previous posts have been quite entertaining. However, I just wanted to check out some cool clips of other strapless riders serious about progression.

Thank You Mr. Hat :hut:

same here...beer that is.
I have seen some sick stuff of Chaza snowkiting. If we could get the same style in big ass waves (just imagine), now that would be kick ass.
We had some 10fters today and only Mike was out. With a 9m and no wind...was sick..no idea how he did that.
PS: why is strapless better? I just hate it....maybe because I sort of suck in surfing?
seriously, not to start anything.
