Are there any kite bags designed like a back pack specifically designed for riding your bike to the beach with everything except your board on the backpack?
I just bought the Carver bike racks. Looks like they will work perfectly. But I need to carry my kite, pump, bar. The kitebags that came with the kites won't last forever.... are there any back-pack kite bags out there that you can buy without getting a whole kite??

C'mon SWK... think GREEN! We're a talking gas over $4/gallon and parking being real hard to come by.
We are the new wave of eco-atheletes!

I'd say try getting an old north bag. I love that thing.

Dakine's Outlaw bag might work, but it is designed to carry the board and the kites and you didn't want to carry the board.

Ozone makes nice bags and they sell their rucksack separately from their kites and paragliders, and it is more like a backpack setup.

I noticed Ozone also announced a new bag to hold wet gear -

Another option is the mesh style backpacks from snorkel - dive - beach stores -

A cheaper alternative would be to buy some inexpensive stuff sacks from REI or a camping store and tie them on with webbing, rope or web belts. REI's have a grab handle at the closed end which is helpful. I use these on 2 of my foil kites for kite skiing, but after I roll them up I put a compression strap / web belt with buckle around them to hold them, and then stuff them in the sack.

I love the bags that came with my '06 fuels! Not sure what the new ones are like, but the '06 bag rocks!

If you really want to be green, use an old trash bag or a pillow case or an old kite bag and don't buy something new. I'm trying to be green.

You can purchase a bag from Slingshot that is the exact same bag as the 06 Fuel here:

I think this is the best bag ever. Then again some people don't like it because they can't figure out what all the straps are for. This bag has good compression straps to lower it's profile once the kite is inside, it has board straps, a bar pocket with strap and loops to transport your pump. There is also a large pocket in the lid to store stuff like sunscreen and other neccessaties.

That Slingshot bag looks really good. Today, I used my 2006 Waroo bag, and it worked really well. It has straps on both sides, and mesh pockets on both sides. Actually a perfect bag! But I need an extra bag because my Freak Dog bag is not quite as good (no side straps). Here are some pix of the Carver board rack (with my Cabrinha 6'1" Tow Surf) and my 2006 Waroo bag. The bar is under the impact vest on one side strap, and the pump is on the other side strap.
Is the Slingshot as good as that one?
