Does it worth changing our kites for the Helix 09 from your experience?

tautologies,
Am I seeing that correct, the 09 Helix with 5 Struts, the 08 has 7 is that correct?
If so wondering how the Helix and the Cult will be different...

Any idea when Joe USA consumer can buy a Cult(seeing as your "connected")?
I'm ready to get rid of the 07 quiver and get an 09 Quiver, SB4 or Cult2?

Kevin Langeree said the Torch is even better than last year.. I hope they changed some parts, cause 07 to 08 was totally no difference for me.
He also told us that Naish has some new things for this year but could't talk about that.
Thorn is a little bit smaller and stiffer, so better for choppy water.

Nice to see they have kept the torch, I wonder where this leaves the alliance as most of their pro riders chose the torch over the alliance.

I just hope this time the Naish distributor in Aus brings them out this time.
5 strut kites are the way to go.As always looks like a nice line up for 09.

the most pro's are freesylers. Alliance is the substitute for the Raven, so a freeride kite. Am I right?

Well, this is of course a something you have to decide for yourself...for me, I will definitely make the jump. The sizing will be different, I tried the 7-8-9 all superb kites. I would like to try them in waves...but so far the Helix is more grunty. It seemed to follow easily and it makes a good promise for a good wave kite... Still nice lofty jumps, but much much more of a hybrid. Super looping!!
There is still a pulley on the Helix, and as far as I remember 7 struts (see the pic), so that did not change, but a more pronounced arc and lower aspect.

I did not see any alliances and the cult seemed to come out in two versions...a regular and a sport version. There are also many attachment points on the kites, so you can move and adopt it more to your style and preference.

It is still some time away though until it comes out...

I'll keep on updating here when I have time and when I go through my pics....

btw. the board range this year looked nice too...

I must be missing something... I count 5 (plus wingtips).

As for the pully - where is it? If I remember, the '08 bridle had only one pully (per side) and it was at the kite wingtip for a bridle line that went from the back to front bridle. So if the back line is now direct, this pully should be eliminated... no?

Hey tautologies... do you know the whole size ranges of the kites? Helix's and Torch's?
thanks dude.

Tautologies, thanks for posting. The kites look great.

I have to agree with the previous poster, the 2009 Helix sure looks like it has only 5 struts in the picture.

And the pullies that I am curious about are the ones at the bar that allow 2:1 operation. Will they still be standard on the Helix? I actually don't use them on my Helixs, I'm just curious.

LOL you're right. A complete brain fart...

I don't know the whole range...what I think there was....for helix ->
something smaller then-7-8-9-10.5-12..then bigger. Right now I am thinking 8 and 10.5 would be nice. The 8 was super fast.

You can adjust more on the kite in terms of how much bar pressure you want. I didn't see any 2:1, but there might be some.

I tried the 7-8-9

The cults I tried 7.5 and I think 9.
The torch I don't know.

About the pulley..I will see if I have any pics...there was a lot of stuff so I might very well have missed something....I thought there was one on the kite...but one thing I do know...the bridle looked a lot smaller.

A.
