When unhooking and dropping the bar I don't wanna deal with the mess of releasing to the 5th, so where is the best and strongest place to attach the leash? Is it the metal piece at the end of the chicken loop or above the black plastic? How do you guys have it? Thanks!

i have an old secret to share with you about that.
Connect your leash (if possible) to your 5th element line and your chicken loop at the same time. SO when you let go of the handle it depowers the kite only that 4 inch span worth of 5th line. so your not getting the full effect, just enough so the kite is killed safely and you dont have to deal with taking in the 5th again.
If not the chicken loop just attach it both to the metal thing. im sure it wont make a diffrence.
Just my word of advice. I fly torches.

I'm connecting it directly to the loop - works fine.

the problem with connecting directly to the loop is that the ring on the north leash is too small to fully close around it. Seems like on the harder pull it would release the kite

If you fasten the leash to the chicken line how secure is it?
One of my mates has a north leash which he says occassionally comes undone as the spring in the jaws isn't very strong...

Yep they aren't. Once i got tossed in the sand, pulled my quick release and when i realized, my kite was flying away .... This jaws releasead somehow when i fell in the sand. I had to run like mad to get the kite

Me and my mates use the Mystic Handle pass leash and have just added a ring of rope to the red rope ring of the 5th line. With this extra ring of rope we can atach the leash to both the 5ht and the chicken loop so most of the times (when you just let go off the bar when unhooked) the kite just depowers and comes leadingedge down to the water. On the other hand, when you deploy the safety on your chicken loop it just slides through the rope and the 5th line runs freely and works perfect. One more thing, use the North’s handle pass leash for everything but riding unhooked!!!
