Hi mate,

It was not Toby who pulled out this tread again; it was me...
I just wanted to let the Forum readers know that I finally received the money back which those crooks at the "Fortaleza Rent A Car" tried to rip me off with.
You were the one who jumped onto the bandwagon posting your opinion about the area.

I like the Cauipe lagoon but only if there are less than 10 kiters. The lagoon was very small when I was there last time in June/July 2009.
I don't mind the little chop at the Cumbuco beach (at least there is heaps of space).

Peace

oooh, that must hurt!
Cumbuco to Caiupe by far the worst chop
Sorry, but there is no chop between Cumbuco and Cauipe, there you will find waves. Not as good as Paracuru, but still pretty decent for normal people.

And read my history of posts, and you will not find any pimping, just my opinion.
And for me Cauipe is the best spot in the world, I never said for anyone else...just for me.
You can write your opinion, I don't care about it, but don't tell me what I should think or write if it comes to my opinion, telling me I write things due to personal interests. Just stay with facts.

So basically it is very simple: you ride in Prea, I ride on Cauipe.
Now tell me where the problem is that you have? I don't get it.

Um, like littlekitegirl told you, she found Ciaupe crowded, like I said. So I guess your "advise" is a little off....

But you like it so why do you care? Its just one less person in your favorite place in the world.

Yes, It was crowed.... but I was there in November (the busiest time). I imagine that lagoon can be fantastic at other times of the year.

girls are smarter than guys! :thumb:

I am happy you like the waves in Prea! This way you are off the lagoon and away from the waves in my area!

And ask the people currently in Cumbuco about the conditions in the ocean...you should have stayed longer before judging a place...

I was there in the just before the high season, and paid less, and Cauipe was busy. Hundreds of people go there from all over the world, so much so the DR saw a decline in visits. I an just a kiteboard traveler, not a businessman like Toby. So I don't own land, and am only stating my opinoin and stick by it. Cauipe sucks balls because of the very limited space. no doubt during the rainey season very few people go to cumbuco and Caiupe. 1. Because its cloudy, 2. It rains and has much less wind comparatively. So go then if you don't mind that, but most people do. Imagine that. IMO Cape Hatteras has far more consistent wind and much flater water, w/o crowds. BUT lacks wind everyday like cumbuco in the high season

I love Brazilian people, food and reliable wind, I was only dissapointed in the crowds, gusty wind and lack of flatwater in Cumbuco basically because Toby overhyped the riding in that regard. That said, I would go back in a minute!

just prove that I overhype if you claim such!

Again for blindies: FOR ME it is the best spot. Did I say for you it will be?

Am I the only lover of Cauipe? Why do so many come back every year?

Ever thought, there are different people like you...the ones who want infrastructure, NO big waves, NO 30 knots, etc?

The coast has something for everyone! And that is good!

And don't forget, I like Ilha do Guajiru a lot as well! Yeah, gustier, and shallow on low tide...so what? I like it, I don't say YOU have to like it, or anyone else. Everyone can go there, test, and see if they like it...same with Cauipe.

And I do stand to my opinion and stick to it as well, because I state facts, and no hypes.

And I know Cape Hatteras as well...great place! And excellent winds during summer!
Why compare these places? Wanna compare Mauritius with Prea waves as well?
