Yeah. He was on a C-kite. That's a fact. But facts have never dissuaded EP in the past.
I originally heard it was a flat kite. I am actually glad to hear it is a C kite. It all makes sense
now and adds up! When I first saw the video I thought no way could a flat kite (bow) do that unless the guy was all the way in on the bar, which he wasn't. Typical C kite behavior in 50 knots or more.

EP: bad news!
Just talked to a girl, she was using a 5th line...and had to release...and got lifted 2m, hit the water, kite powered up again, 2m, hit the water, kite looped again, up 2m, etc. for about 5 min. Then she completely released with the last air in her lungs...she is ok.
Don't promote the 5th at 100% safe, nothing is and things can fail. e.g. if you only do spins into one direction...then the lines are twisted and a 5th can fail.
Nothing is 100% safe, so in the first place never get in a bad situation where you have to release.

and guys, please be careful about what you are writing, since this forum does not support physical punishment in any way.
If you wouldn't give him a launch it is a different thing than wanting to "hit" someone. No one wants that, no matter how angry you are about the situation.

Makes more sense that, I've seen guys launch during serious squals (against advice) on flat kites and they get dragged downwind with the kite buckling and flapping like crazy with the bar out. That fellow Kevin doesn't sound very swift IMO, more balls than brains.

I'm sure this guy is loving all the attention he is getting from this. He will most likely be seen on a mag and then sponsored by some lame kite company who needs the publicity. So for all of you guys ragging on this dude, you are supporting his campaign and I'm sure he will thank you some day.
