Hello Arik,

I was in Floripa last year from Nov till end of Jan, the wind is 50/50 from North or from South, the North is always better its more clean and less huminity...as well as its from the left (im goofy), i had 3 days in a week wind for my 9m and i was on a 6'2" surf board always.
I didnt ride the lagoon so much so i cant say anything, i ride mostly Campeche, and Joaquina.
But THE BEST place to ride waves is Ibiraquera, its lockated 1h South from Floripa island, i recomend you to stay there when the forecast will give north winds...you will get crazy of the waveriding quality there...extra long left breaker and side off shore wind from left (not so gusty) in Ibiraquera i had also a few days with 7m and 5'10" the waves are SUPER GLASSY there!!!!

If you need any info regarding places to stay or whatever feel free to contact me, my web is www.paroskite.gr my name is George Georgoudakis

Yes zedzed what Paroskite said is right, november should be 50/50, but since winds in the south of brazil in that time of year are due to a combination of frontal and thermal effects, anything can happen. I would recommend it as a "kite trip" only if you can stay for at least a month, preferably from september to november.

Does wind blow every day in november? Is lagoa de conceiçao a safe place to teach a beginner? Do we need a car for nightlife or are there buses?

I live near Florianópolis, and have been ther in April. I got three days of high wind. if you want to kite in waves, go to Ingleses or Costão do Santinho.

Both are the places you have a best wave X wind condition.

But I was there for 10 days, only three I kited. Only one with 25+ wind, the other two days where lesse than 20 knots.

Its NECESSARY to have a car there. Downtow tho north places to kite is over 30 km of roads, inside the island.

I never kited on the Lagoa da Conceição, so I cannot give my opinion. Since I always kite in lakes, when I go there I always stay on the sea.

Hope I helped
