When unhooking, does the Dynabar hook dangle on the spreader bar or does it stick out like a regular hook for ease of hooking back in?

If I understand correctly the hook when unhooked will position itself in the center pointing up.

I think re hooking in may require a little bit of getting used to.

Cheers

Fred

The Dynabar is around $100 US....includes bar pad...contact Mario at Jay Factory direct www.jayfactory.com. I am authorized to sell the one I have now at a discount if you are interested (and the only reason I would want to sell it is to get the newer version - otherwise I love it)

With the bar that I currently have the hook re-centers itself and the hook flips upward so I think hooking back in would be OK. As Fred mentions it may take a little getting used to at first - just like anything else new and different. But you should find out about the latest version which just came out a few weeks ago, because that is the model you will probably receive from Jay Factory unless you want mine.

Also, what happens if the hook gets stuck at the back of the metal loop, dragging you toward/down/over the beach/rocks/road and you're unable to reach behind you and release your chicken loop? I realise this sort of thing can happen with a normal harness, but you're much more likely to be able to get out of that situation.
I didn't do anything special when the Dakine Spreader failed while cruising.
That broken part goes through the spreader and welded on both end.

Thank you Fred for the details,
I'm going to wait for the new release of the Dynabar

The DYNABAR was designed and patented in 2003 to be also 360° but after full tests we decided to limit rotation mainly because of safety and usability (in strong winds it's hard to control the rotation of the hook and you should use it locked!).

We are working on small changes to make DYNABAR more usable in all conditions and different kitesurfing styles. I think we are close to have a 100° functional dynamic spreader bar and in few days we will post a small video describing it.

Amazing, :thumb:
Just wondering if any independent riders tested your Dynabar yet :?:
Just because I'm planning to get one also after more people tested it.
So we would know the safety feature is not compromised and mechanicaly functioning well.

I am independent - my review of the previous version at viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2354606

I am hoping to test the newest version soon as well.

I had exactly the same idea for about three years now. I doubted you could make it work so nicely. Big compliment to the creators! Consider that this is a prototype. A serial product would look much nicer having lots of improvements.
