Hi all,

For those who have been to cuba and kited in varadero can anyone recommend the best location on the peninsular to kite?

Also can anyone recommend any accommodation at the beach like a casa particulares?

Currently Im staying at the western end of the peninsular, the tip is like 30kms away to the east, is there any public transport out there?

hey EZ,

i already replied to your pm,

you wont find casa particulares in Varadero, well at least not legal ones, if you dig around you should find some. but check Aquazul hotel, Varazul and Punta Blanca, they are cheap and right there on the beach, no need to go all the way to la punta (end of the peninsula). the wind is going to be wicked and side shore starting on thursday, tomorrow 14 knots onshore.

you can use the double tour bus that goes all over Varadero end to end but is very slow because stops every 3 min.

wwhere are you staying now?

I have been to Varadero in March, stayed in Iberostar Playa Alameda hotel. There is a small "kitebeach" about 1 km from the hotel, there were about 3 kites on the water. The wind is side-shore or on-shore, quite stable. But there are people walking on the beach and looking, sometimes they go to the water and sometimes they are snorcheling, so it much safer to ride in longer distance from the beach.
