It's a shame not to see any riders from Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, and Venezuela registered for the World Championships.

I agree it's a shame, but without big prize money it's hard for people to travel far to race. Hopefully as it grows we'll see the field fill in. I'm pumped to be one of the 7 OR kites out there for this years racing.

Being packed into the start line with 50 other kites is damn exciting. :thumb:

What happens if there's a false start? Do you all go back to the starting line again? Geez it would be hard enough to find a big enough spot for 50 kiters let alone coordinating a fair start :)

We're stoked bigtime for this.....not only because we're a sponsor of the event but because we've got our local Crew competing. :thumb:

Frank - yes, if too many riders go over the start line early to be individually identified and recalled, then a general recall is posted and we start the sequence all over again. Nine years in this sport and only really big surf can get the adrenaline flowing like it does with 50+ extremely competitive athletes all charging shoulder to shoulder in gusty 25-30mph+....not to mention the heavy chop, fog, strong tides, tangles and the occasional super tanker plowing through the course.....can't wait. :P

Cheers,

Evan
