2010 where/what month for wind and waves ???????

i have a six week sabitical in 2010. i get to choose anytime in 2010 for the six week holiday. for wind and waves where on the planet would you choose???? thanks for your response. and yes i do know about the travel section on the forum it has given me some ideas already. thanks in advance for suggestions!!

1. Brazil in September and October.
2. Maui - not sure when.

thanks for maui and brazil... i have been to both....please keep suggestions coming. i am thinking of mauritis......or western australia....i am very interested in waves...please suggestions...thanks

Cape Town, season from Nov. till Feb. Can be very windy, so you need a really small kite. Air temperature is hot but water is cold. Have a look at Kevin Langerees homepage. He made a documentation of his training time last winter in CT. Gives a very good impression of the conditions ( some nice wave riding also) and the surroundings.

I was there years ago on a 4 week gap time in between jobs ( being a windsurfer at that time) and really enjoyed it. You can do so many things beside Kitesurfing. It is a beautiful landscape, great whine growing area and in CT there is a lot of cool nightlife and great places for food.

Here are the options with the best statistics:
Mauritius: July/august
Western Australia: dec/jan/feb
Cape Town: dec/jan/feb
Peru: sept/oct
Chili: sept/oct/nov
Indo:Bali july; sumbawa sept

But also:
Punta San Carlos (Baja): spring and fall
Barbados: jan/feb

and many others...

Hit starting in Dec./Jan. San Juan P.R. (of course its good in tampa then too).

San Carlos , Guaymas MX , Feb./Mar.

Cali. Coast Apr.

Hatteras or Corpus May

Punta San Carlos, Baja MX Jun

Hood river / OR Coast July/Aug.

Sept. maybe Punta San Carlos again

Oct./ Nov. maybe the east coast US

That schedule would maximize your $ by being able to camp most of the time as well if you want.

Well I would stay here till after May or June and look at traveling in the last half of the year.

So with in mind and your looking for waves and your going to want wind.

Maui is best for waves and the best time of year there is in the winter so I would go there in November or December.

Look at what everyone else has to say for the other months.
