I am looking for a freestyle kite that is fast and will boost big. Just curious to get any opinions on advantages or disadvantages of each kite from anyone who has rode one. Also open to other kites. Thanks!

I've spent a good amount of time on both of those kites(12m's too)...
Both are really fun kites and you probably can't go wrong with either...
Differences between the two: I think the Eclipse Kite has a little less bar pressure compared to the HP...not that the HP has heavy pressure...because it doesn't...
For kiteloops, you get a bigger "rocket feel" with the HP...very fun to kite loop....
For jumps...tough call...both launch you to the moon. The HP might win out slightly, but not by much.
Sweet spot when riding: ...probably the biggest difference I noticed..the HP seemed to have a little less "rideable" range on the bar compared to the Thruster...meaning, if pushing the bar too far away, it wouldn't turn as well, etc.. it liked to be pulled all the way in, to get max turning... The Thruster seemed to turn well with the bar in and out... I like to ride with my arms extended and the bar pushed away a bit, so the Thruster seemed a better fit for my riding style.
Anyway, that's my 2 cents after spending some time on both... again, both are really nice and you won't be dissapointed...

SURF 8 & 12 for the waves. RENEGADE 6.5 and 9 for all around kiting. And some times I use my son's JUNIOR PRO 4 when it blows 45+ for the waves.
Just try the EPICKITES and you will see for yourself.

Probably the best thing to do will be for you to test both of them and make your own judgment.

I would but there are no 09 Thrusters anywhere in NC and all I can find are a few in CA and FL. Is that it for the 09's this year.

Call your dealer, we have 09 Thrusters left in stock allot of dealers got kites this week and last week. The 2010 thruster wont change very much from 2009 as we are very happy with that kite performance.
The only 2010 kites we planed for production is the NEW- C kite and Vector. The KIMA and Thruster will follow later when we feel that we make them significantly better then current model.

I had a 08 thruster 12, which was a nice kite. The rear and front lines are linked at kite bridle and that means the rear lines never really go slack when sheeting out and makes kite more responsive in sheeted out state. Fast, nimble kite with great jumping, upwind and looping abilities.
I also have a 08 Thruster 10 which is a crap kite- jelly fishes like mad in anything but smooth water and air conditions.T12 does this only in very very turbulent conditions. So i bought a 09 HP 10- which ended up replacing T10 and T12 so i sold the T12. Cant bring myself to sell such a crappy T10 to anyone...
The HP 10 is has much more stable form in air- no jelly fishing or pumping at all. Yes- non-linked rear lines mean kite loses response in sheeted out conditions. And in really light wind- when i should change up- i can oversheet and kite backstalls- But that is no big deal. HP 10 pulls more in loops than T12. Hp 10 turning behavior is sensitive to sheeting position- T12 much more consistent turning behavior.

I thought that the Thruster 14 was more comparable to the Nemi HP 12 rangewise??
