Hi, just a simple question.
Sooo many new brands, some appear, some disappear.
Which would you say are the top 10 kite manufacturers?
I am writing them in what I consider the "market share" of each brand... but I'm not quite sure...
Here goes my list:
1) North
2) Slingshot
3) Naish
4) Cabrinha
5) FlySurfer
6) Best
7) Liquid Force
8.) Flexifoil
9) F-One
10) Wainman
Pls post your opinions! Brands I am missing??

I would think that Ocean Rodeo & Eclipse would both have more market share than Wainman.
I also don't see a lot of Fone or Flexi although that may be where I ride (The Gorge)

Where are you guys from? There is a big difference in local popularity in different regions.
I'd guess that the top 3 are: Cabrinha, Naish and Best.
The 4th-6th would be: North, Slingshot and Ocean Rodeo.
Beyond that, I don't know. It would too heavily influenced by local tastes. So... my list would be..
1) Cabrinha
2) Best
3) Naish
4) North
5) Slingshot
6) Ocean Rodeo
7) - 10) Eclipse and some brands that are more popular in Europe than in the US

I'll make a list based on what i see most in my area, Long Island.
1) Best
2) Cabrinha
3) Naish
4) North
5) Slingshot
6) F-one
7) Ozone
8.) Airush
9) Liquid Force
10) GK
BEST definitely has a stranglehold on long island probably because of the best kiteboarding center here.

If it comes to quality then you get another sight then when the standard is popularity...
Slingshot
North
Ozone
Ocean rodeo
Zeeko / liquid force
F-one
Naish
Cabrinha
Airush
RRD
Sorry I've seen to many best kites who came fresh out off the bag with twisted bladders, leaks,...
without any airtime at all...

I would say Flysurfer has the best quality...I never heard any problems with foils!

Well, I'm from South America (Uruguay). down here I've only seen North, Cabrinha, Naish, best, SlingShot, and a couple of rrds and flexifoil...
I agree that it depends a lot on your location. But I am interested in the US and Europe just to have a glance of the top used brands (non depending of quality, etc).

Peter lynn has a good market in the kite buggy and in kite/snow/Mountainboard surfing (less extend)
cheap, solid , simple and C-shape oriented.
