Rode again today on the 16m havoc. Super light wind ocean session, staying upwind. I love what this kite has added to my range of kiteable wind. If I didn't have it I would have been like everyone else sitting in a beach chair wasting away.

Thanks for all the great responses! Since I'm looking at the used market I think i'll have to eliminate the 16m havoc as I haven't been able to find any. I've found an 08' 14m Havoc and a '08 16m Session for around the same price but am still having a hard time deciding between the two, leaning a bit more toward the 14 Havoc because of my size and it seems like it may have better low end ...
I should also at that I kite on lakes in the Midwest so it tends to be gusty and a 16 feels like it might be a bit much in our conditions at my size (155lbs)

I would def agree with getting the smaller kite. I borrowed a buddies 16m C-Kite and compared to the 11m bow (TD2) I would rather fly the TD2 and work it a bit to get going that deal with that 16m beast. But thats just me. 16m's is a lot of kite if a gust hits it.

Hey, checkout Real Kiteboarding. They have some used and demo 16m Havoc's and Session's. I bought my 2008 16m Havoc from Dave Betz at Real and it was in new condition.
Here's a link to their used page:

Please Please do your self a favor. Don't get a 14m LF kite. LOL PLEASE. It was just as slow as the 16. Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am 205 lbs, and my friend is 160 lbs, we have the same quiver. He rode my 16 one day, and threw in the towel..........bought one that night!! Brand new 600 dollars.
I promise you disapointment if you get the 14, and you are looking to ride in 10knots!

Agree with Andrew there, although haven't flown the 16m, but based on the fact that in marginal wind the 09 12m Session had as much power as my 08 14m Havoc, regardless of what the claimed wind range is for both kites, my opinion is that they're too close in performance in light winds, better to go for the 16m... sure them Havocs are gust munchers
