Where to get Brazilian tourist visa by mail in USA

Postby ryanwait » Tue Sep 29, 2009 11:44 pm

Headed to Brazil for November, and need to get my tourist visa. If i could walk into a consulate i would. by mail i cant find any website that does it for under $280. I am i missing something or is this just the going rate?

Also if anybody knows of cheap places to stay in Paracuru, or Taiba i would love to hear about it.

Cheers,
Ryan

Hi there,

our last customer just sent his documents to the Brazilian Consulate in Los Angeles.

You should contact the consulate and ask for details.

What you are suffering is called RESIPROCITY. You should dig up information about what brazilians have to go thru to get a US visa and spend their hard earned dollars in Magic Kingdom!
Stay in line, pay up and stop complaining!
Or, do as I do, just avoid US territorry all toether!

reciprocity, bureaucracy, people trying to make an extra buck off a tourist... ..whatever...
If you have not HELPFUL advice,
why not just shut up?
It is just a person trying to travel.
Not a political statement. :nono:

Not too sensitive, aeberl,
just calling you out for slinging political opinions instead of offering advice.
the idea of the first poster was to solve a visa problem.
The guy can't help it what country he is from.
If you don't want to help, why whinge?
Why tell him to go research someone else's problem, how does that help him?
Your post seems like a cheap shot at him, a way of complaining about living in South America. Who feels sorry for you?
If you don't like it, leave.
Oh, if you can get a visa
Sorry to make fun of you, but you set yourself up for that mi amigo.

Really I might even agree with you about visa policies,
but the policies aren't the point here.
The point is what is the best way to get the visa,
whether he is from Brazil, US, EU, Peru, Mexico, NZ or whatever..
Somehow, I bet it is a situation you have encountered yourself, with one country or another.
;)
:bye:
PS sorry for the distracting rant, gonna go eat a banana ;)

For your info, I don't require visa for travelling to the US and I live in South America because I chose to do so after living in the US and EU. And yes, you are being too sensitive, otherwise why the answer (maybe PMS?)?

For us down here in Brazil is just insane to go to USA.
U need to fly($$$ for me a 2 hr flight) to a city with a US consulate and go through a suck ass interview and pay lots of money.
It would be good if we could do it by mail.

Hi there,

in this post the only thing is to help someone to get infos about a visa.

But i agree with everyone how difficult it is for a brazilian to get a visa for the states.

I want to tell you an unbelieveable story .…

August 08

- a female family member is travelling from fortaleza to recife for an interview ...
total costs 400 us dollar … flight, taxi, visa fee whatever !
after asking a few questions … The agent at the consulate says :
I am sorry you are not prepared to travel the states. no visa for you.
No reason was given … only you are not prepared.

- October 08

the lady goes again to Recife … costs 400 Dollars !
by the way the lady owns a business in Fortaleza and makes good money !
after checking all documents … and normally you need to bring only 2 docs with you …
the agent asks for extra bank statement , tax reports etc. whatever he asked she
gave it to him ===> The answer … Sorry you are not prepared.

- December 08 she is going again …10000 US Dollar bank statement, flight tickets bought, car rental paid, hotel reserved ...
The agent said and later her boss apologized in a phone call with me :
If i were you i wouldnt spent my money to get a visa , because you will not get it.

Can you believe 3 times = 1200 US Dollar spent and no visa ! It would be fair if people dont get a visa that they would get a refund for a visa fee. But no … the USA keep the money even if you dont get the visa !

And now give the guy the infos he needs.

Greetings from windy Cumbuco
