IKA News:
IKA terminates sanctioning for KPWT events
We regret to announce, that all future KPWT events are not sanctioned anymore by the International Kiteboarding Association and thus do not count for the world rankings.
The KPWT has been in material and persistent breach of the sanctioning agreement between IKA and KPWT, and has failed to remedy this breach after being requested to do so. Therefore the IKA had to terminate the sanctioning agreement with immediate effect to protect the interest of their national members and competitors.
All past events of the 2009 season do still count for the world ranking, and competitors are allowed to enter the remaining KPWT events in 2009 without consequences.
For more information, do not hesitate to contact us.

Hey Toby,
Few quick questions.
Who is on the board of the IKA
and how did they come into their positions?
Also, how are future members elected?
Are they at all connected with PASA? or others?
Thanks
-Jon

John, those guys are a bunch of tour promoters that elected themselves to be the int'l representatives that govern the sport. As already said, now the KPWT is legit. Too bad that PKRA gave in to the IKA.

What does this really actually mean?
Was their to be a combining of scores from the tours?
What about riders on the KPWT tour?

so now if PKRA pulls out from IKA then there will be no world tour that will be ''sanctioned'' by IKA, whoever the f*** they are.
PKRA shoulda stuck with ISA

Sorry if I am a bit slow here, but "to protect the interest of their national members and competitors" coming from the IKA sounds a bit odd to me. I am presuming that the "I" in IKA means international.
What nation are we talking about ?

IKA is run by some German computer yuppie who has aspirations to take over the world of kitesurfing.
