Toby:

One year later,
do you keep thinking IKA is good for our sport ?

I will wait for 2010. 2009 was, as anticipated, chaotic. Then all problems should be solved and I will have an answer to your question.

But I assume 2010 will be the best year for our sport knowing what is going on behind the scenes. If you don't, take it easy with your comments. And it is still a matter for the pro riders and event organizers, nothing will change for us ;-)

we will see. But too early to say in my opinion. and make sure to know all facts before judging.

Okay, so now if PKRA goes back to their original boycott of IKA there won't be any riders left to chase World Champ title. Think I might just take part, happy days :jump:

Here is the link for the board members of IKA.

http://www.internationalkiteboarding.or ... Itemid=183

What most my not realize is the majority of the board is made up of current pro riders and not event hustlers.

It's understandable most people don't like being told what they can or cannot due.
Like Toby says time will tell and we need to withhold judgment until we know all the facts but I don't think IKA is out to take over kiteboarding in general but does want to propel the sport forward in the competitive realm.

The KPWT can only be in breach if they actually entered into a contract with IKA. The IKA has a responsibility to its members and the riders of KPWT the make them aware of non compliance.

Lets just hope all parties can work this out. Our sport needs positive press, the negative already gets enough attention.

The IKA can no more legitimately declare an official world champion then the PKRA. It's this monopolistic attitude that offends so many people.

The long term business plan of the IKA includes much more then competitive aspects of kitesurfing. They plan on using the competitions as a spring board to make money in other areas.

Anyway all the pro-tours are still a joke.
