14m C kite isn't big. The big ones are extinct but they no doubt contributed to the knowledge base and hence the biggest they bother making C's is 15m. Above that its not worth it.
Bridled kites were worse. When the best hit a homer with the 9m waroo and won a ton of the market, the 13m was a dog and took years to really improve.
Small kites work for guys that are happy with doors or surfboards, but a nice big rockered board with boots (fkgravity style) only needs about 13/14 knots to be fun but you need a 14/15m C
This is all OT. There are tons of different combinations of different gear that works. What you go with depends on what you find fun!
Back on topic:
Basically not all sizes of the same model kite are created equally.

I wouldn't say 15m for a C kite is big, same as a 12/13 flat one and pretty much normal. If you'd said 19 - 22m for a big kite, then that would be a big kite!!
But hey if people dig small kites and surfboards, then that's their thing, no need to knock it!

I'm 90 kg/200 lbs - for those of you who asked.
Now have 9+12 m SLEs (of a powerful kind). Guess that equals 10+14 m Torch.
I would probably go 8-10-14 or 8-11-14m. But my question was more general, if all sizes can really be good (equally good), or you should wait and test e.g. 10 and 11m

Yeah of course, but for real? Who does that??
I currently run a 14/10 quiver or Diablos from a 12/10 and still use the 8 eras. (weren't you on eras?)
Anyway. I'm gonna pick up a 6 diablo cause we've had some nukin days lately and I'm tire of being over done on that 8. Big gaps, but thats really a testament to the range of today's C kites.
No real chance to demo a 6. Going on faith and tried to get advice as to it behaviour, but I'm sure its not quite as refined as the 10. Just hoping its refined enough and doesn't live up to its name too much!
