Slingshot 5.8 Celeritas - V - 6.2 Ben wilson pros

Postby rhodes kitesurfing » Fri Nov 13, 2009 9:38 am

Looking for a board for light medium waves - ridding strapless mostly weighting 75 kg, however, in rough days i go with straps etc

What would you reckon be the better board for me?

They are very different boards. I think it is all about where you are with your kiting (particularly with directionals) and the conditions your are riding in. I would say the Pro is for more experinced riders on more punchy, steeper waves. The Celeritas is more of an all rounder, chop buster. Shymac would probably have some good tips on this for you. Slingshot customer service is second to none by the way. :thumb:

Those are the 2 boards that roll with me no matter where i go. You need to get the 5'8" Celeritas no question. if you plan on having a second board in the quiver then yes nothing beats the BWP when it gets clean and steep.

tnx for the comments

I do have other 2 boards - a custom 5.9 and north bullet (quarto) 5.10

I am looking foe something better for going strapless in small medium waves - therefore do u think that the ben wilson 6.2 can be good for me in these conditions ? in my size 75 gk 176 cm. never went on a bigger board then 5.10.

Maybe u should try and arrange a demo I dome all SS boards in SF bay area. I still think the Celeritas is the call for you. I prefer bigger board specially for strapless but make no mistake the 5'8" rides big. Much more volume than the BWP and a fat stable tail

Can someone comment on the lowend of the Celeritas 5'8" for someone in the 190 lbs/85 Kg range. Wondering if it will plane in the 14 - 15 mph range with a bigger kite. Looking for a good light wind directional, and wondering if the Celeritas would be a good fit. Thanks in advance.

Both Celeritas are excellent for ANY light-weight kiters riding in the light wind condition...but ... better have another small surfboard for high wind.. :thumb:
