I heard that Aaron was only given 750 points for his win in Fuerteventura due to some prize-money reduction. Apparently this meant that he had to use this 1st place as a discard as this is less points than a 3rd place which is normally 790 points.
If Aaron had been given the normal 1000 points for a first and he could chuck away a 2nd or 3rd - he would have had more points than Kevin? And thereby be World Champ. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
The fact that Aaron was forced to use a 1st place as a discard is in principle ok - as this would happen if there were different points for different events - only problem is....PKRA only gives out 1000 points for a first (as far as I know) - their rules do not allow for giving only 750 points for a first even if prizemoney is reduced - again please correct me if I'm wrong.
This is no disrespect to Kevin or any other riders, but rules are rules and this is the most prestigious world championship - I'd like someone to dig out the results and the rules that allowed for the reduction of points for a first in Fuerteventura.

I think that normal folk realise it`s all been a sham since that result in fuerta, actually since the IKA thing really,
If this was the most prestigious event, How come they only had 4 events due to lack of sponsors and yet the real sham tour kpwt managed quite a few more.
There are actually a whole lot of nonsense when it comes to the comps and regulatory bodies,
IKA, ISAF, PKRA, KPWT all of them are pointless if we just want to kite,
as a Brit I`ve had enough of cheating french & football regulatory bodies and now I`ve got the PKRA and the dutch to moan about, and all the cocks on here,
praise the lord it`s windy

from PKRA rulebook
http://www.prokitetour.com/pkra-event-rules.php?id=1 :
IX WORLD CUP RANKINGS AND RESULTS
35. The points system for the freestyle tour ranking will be the following:
Place Points Place Points Place Points
1 1000 5 650 13 485
2 885 6 610 17 440
3 790 7 585 25 400
4 710 9 530 33 365
Hadlow: 1place France (1000pts) + 1place Fuerte (1000pts) + 3place Germany (790pts) + 4 place New Caledonia (discard) = 2790
Langeree: 3place France (discard) + 2place Fuerte (885pts) + 1place Germany (1000pts) + 2 place New Caledonia (885pts) = 2770
pkra rulebook say "Aaron Hadlow is World Champion 2009!"
but NEW rule "less money - less points" say "Aaron Hadlow is only #3 in rating PKRA 2009".
Aaron Hadlow say: "
I thought that was a sort of weird rule but I guess thats the way it goes."

aaron rips and has been riding and winning the PKRA more then any other rider. Im sure he knows the rules and how to use them to his advantage, sounds like the PKRA is changing things up...

i am with peterp here, it clearly says aaron is champ?? what a load of bullshit. i hope he dosnt waste his time next season with PKRA its losing all its cred. i am sure kevin would rather have won it out right rather than being given it by some dodgy points system which dose not even add up correctly.
we know who the real champ is..

Aaron is way better than the PKRA dangle crew he should do as Andre P and Len10 do, Ride and make movies. Aaron has nothing to prove.

Shame he lost due to a truncated and under-sponsored tour (which of course is the responsibility of the tour organizers), despite the fact the he has more wins than Langeree and Zoon combined. Of course, he is trying to push the judging in a new direction, while everyone else is trying to catch up by performing the status quo. Maybe now he'll follow in the footsteps of other innovators (Dre, Lenten, Ben Wilson) and leave the tour to make freeride movies.
